although we tried, we just couldn't seem to get the dvd done in time for the holidays. however, now that we're back from our honeymoon (we'll post pictures soon), rest assured that it will be done by the next time we see you. below are a few of the menu pages we might use.

Friday, November 4th, 3:30pm - Rehearsal at the museum. we'll go over the ceremony and talk about specific tasks that people can help us out with, like greeting guests and maybe setting up chairs...
(please let us know if you won't be able to make it. we understand that it may be difficult to get up here so early on a friday afternoon and we can fill you in if you have to miss it)

Robyn's Bridal Shower Tea

another stepping stone on the path to holy matrimony, the bridal shower tea was a smashing success! the ladies enjoyed a lovely afternoon sipping tea and dining on tiny sandwiches, baklavah, and lavender & rosemary cookies. many laughs were shared whilst scrap-booking and opening gifts. a heartfelt thank you to all involved!

just a little update: we've settled on a caterer, found a photographer, gotten our invitations, and worked out a deal with our musicians. still a few more things to do, but we've been extremely blessed with such helpful friends and family, we could never have made it this far without you all! thank you!

we're getting hitched!

on valentine's day, i drove my main squeeze of 4+ years up to the mountains and asked her to marry me.

she said yes.

she thought we were going to have a picnic up at lizard's mouth with our fake cheese and stoned wheat crackers and our fancy bottle of wine. (lizard's mouth was where i took her back on valentine's of 2001, just after we'd had a rare dusting of snow, back when she still wasn't sure about me)

so we sat and exchanged our homemade valentines. when she opened mine, she was surprised to find a booklet of special coupons:

good for a movie ...

good for a lifetime of backrubs...

and finally, good for a lifetime of love and devotion - at which point i got down on one knee and presented her with the ring that i'd picked out months ago. then we both just sort of stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity until i found my voice again and asked her to marry me...

...and she said yes, making me the happiest boy in the whole wide world!
